Best thing about working for yourself?
It’s brought out my creative side, which I hadn’t used in a while and wasn’t sure I still had! Running my own business has also helped me grow as a person. Like most entrepreneurs, I’ve hit a few bumps along the way, but these have forced to me look inside and learn, which has ultimately boosted my confidence.

Worst thing about working for yourself?
I want a bigger team! I can’t do it all.

Why did you start your business?
I could not figure out how to find the perfect job, so I decided to create it.

When did you start to think of yourself as an entrepreneur?
For as long as I can remember. I closed my first deal when I was five years old. I created a hat for my doll and then turned around and sold it to my friend for 5 kopecks (the Russian equivalent of cents) so that I could buy myself the marble cake I really wanted.

How do you relax?
I turn off the phone and shift my focus to my friends and family. Whatever my son wants to do—play tennis or chess, doodle, tell silly jokes—that’s what I do.

What is something that you’re known for?

What’s a business that you think is interesting or inspiring?
I’m inspired by businesses that give back to the community, especially the ones that teach survival skills and create incentives for people to bootstrap.

Who is a person that inspires you?
IGC’s Adelaide Lancaster. She’s created a community—one that is truly unique and always evolving. And I love her newsletters, because they are always so honest and motivational; they make me want to push myself further.
